If you have attended Johnson C. Smith University within the last quarter century, then you likely know Miss Shirley Bertha. The Floor Supervisor in the dining hall has worked at JCSU for the last 24 years. During her time here, she has mentored, prayed and guided a number of students in need. So it was no surprise when she was seen helping a student on the first day of class.

This summer 11 students presented their research in the New Science Center auditorium on the campus of Johnson C Smith University. It was all a part of an eight-week Research Experience for Undergraduates created and funded by the National Science Foundation.
