CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith men's basketball team earned its first conference win over the Panthers of Va. Union University, 67-65 on Tuesday evening. Asa White led the Golden Bulls with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Javon Anderson chipped in 17 points on the night.

CHARLOTTE - The Golden Bulls men's basketball team went a perfect 2-0 in the JCSU Tip-Off Classic over the weekend. The Golden Bulls defeated non-NCAA opponents Virginia University of Lynchburg 102-68 on Friday night and Carolina Christian College, 93-61 on Saturday, afternoon.

CHARLOTTE - Rylee Ghent scored 23 points as the Golden Bulls women's basketball team fell to Division I foe, Gardner-Webb, 88-67. on Saturday afternoon. Ghent shot 6 of 12 from the field, and two of seven from three point area and went perfect from the line shooting nine of nine. Desiree Smith had another double double on the night scoring 15 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team went 1-1 over the weekend in the CIAA Cross Conference Challenge. On Saturday the Golden Bulls fell to the host Virginia State 80-51. Besty Burnett led the team with 20 points. She shot 6 of 16 from the field. Burnett shot 6 of 13 from three point area and went 3 of 6 from the free throw line. Desiree Smith had a double double on the night scoring 12 points and grabbibg 12 rebounds.
