VPM 331 Introduction to Music Business Three Credit Hours
Provides an overview of the major areas of music business, including music merchandising, music copyright, contracts, and licensing laws, as well as recording industry production and distrubution, and artist management. Career options and development are also explored, and qualified music- business professionals and performers serve as a guest speakers (when feasible). Field trip to professional music enterprises and/or events may be offered, as available. Prerequisite: Consent of instructor.
