    Graduate School Course:
    SWK 603

    This course is designed to provide an introduction to social welfare policy and services i the United States, along with the links between social problems, social policy, and social services. The focus will be on the content and process components of social welfare policy development in legislative, administrative, and interagency areas at the federal, state and local levels. Historic and contemporary responses to social welfare needs in the United States will be included. The global interconnections between the U. S. and the First World countries, Second World Countries and Third Worlds countries in addressing international social problems will be examined.
