Description

This course emphasizes knowledge and skills dealing with the normal processes of human development across the life span and the problems that surface when the processes are disrupted. The emphasis will be on cultivating basic analytical skills necessary to begin identifying and evaluating environmental forces that influence human behavior across the life span and attitudes resulting from the interrelatedness of the personality and the environment. Students will present themselves as learners, demonstrate professional demeanor, and use self-reflection and regulation throughout the course. Students will also learn how to apply knowledge of human behavior and the social environment, person-in-environment, and other multidisciplinary theoretical frameworks to engage with clients and constituencies.
