Description

POL 331 Law and Politics
Three credit hours
This course is an introduction to the American legal system, focusing on its political context and
significance. It sketches the structure and functioning of the federal court system, and then explores the
courts ’impact on individuals who seek to vindicate their rights through litigation and on those who become
involved with the criminal justice system. Special attention is devoted to the history and role of the legal
profession in America. (Offered in alternate years)
