Description

CSC 336 Introduction to Bioinformatics Three credit hours

This course introduces students to DNA structure and replication, genetic code and human genome project, genome sequence acquisition
and sequence analysis, pairwise and multiple sequence alignments, database searches, and some case studies. The students will be able to
analyze, develop and implement tools that enable efficient access and management of different types of information and will be able to use
UNIX, and PERL for pattern recognition and searches. Prerequisites: CSC 131, or (LS 135, HON 110) or Departmental approval.
