Description

BIO 249 is the first course in a two semester sequence that provides a comprehensive study of the organization of the human body and the physiology of body processes. Cellular biology, histology, integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, and endocrine systems are covered. Throughout the course an emphasis is placed on the interrelationship between structure and function and on the processes that maintain homeostatic, including deviations resulting in homeostatic imbalances. This comprehensive course contains both lecture and laboratory component. Student must be Sophomore standing. Credit in Both BIO 249 and BIO 240 is not allowed.

Prerequisite: BIO 143 or equivalent. Lecture: Three Hours a week. Laboratory: Two hours a week.
