Charlotte, N.C. (April 18, 2015) --  The Johnson C. Smith men's track & field team had two individual champions and captured a relay championship en route to a 3rd place finish at the 2015 CIAA Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Irwin Belk Complex.

Writing Helps Lawson Live with Cancer

Charlotte, N.C., - October 15, 2012 – Susan Lawson feels she has a 'calling' to teach writing. When she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, she learned that survivorship was limited to five-year statistics. "I asked myself why I would need five years to accomplish what I really felt passionate about doing today," says Lawson, an English instructor and academic advisor at Johnson C. Smith University.

Freshman sensation Leford Green has been selected as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region Track Athlete of the Year. Green holds the nation's best time in the 400 meters at 45.56.
